This is an old recipe for real homemade ice cream. You know, the kind where you use the ice cream maker with a bucket, ice, and salt. So, if you don’t have one of those ice cream makers, go get yourself one!
I have tried a lot of homemade ice cream recipes in my day, and this one is by far the best one I have ever tasted. Maybe it’s the nostalgia, or maybe it’s all the sugar. But either way, I’m sure you will love it! I have included the base recipe, and add-ins for either chocolate ice cream, or vanilla with a hint of lemon.
Old Fashioned Homemade Ice Cream
6 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk (Eagle Brand)
1 can Evaporated Milk (canned milk)
3 cup cream
Chocolate
1 T. vanilla
1/2 can chocolate syrup (not hot fudge)
Lemon Vanilla
2 T. vanilla
1 T. lemon extract (not juice)
Pour into ice cream maker, and fill with whole milk to fill line. Mix until done.
