Have you ever wanted to read the standard works in one year? Here is an easy to follow schedule that will only take you 20 minutes a day.
A few years ago, I decided I wanted to read the entire standard works in one year. I had only read the Book of Mormon consistently (click here for some fresh ideas for studying the BOM), and read the other scriptures as references or in class study; basically just in chunks here and there. I had 4 young children at the time and worried it would take a lot of time each day, but I really wanted to do it.
After finding a lot of different reading schedules and planning it all out, I realized it can be done for only 20 minutes a day! More accurately, it’s about 7 pages each day which takes me about 20 minutes.
This standard works reading schedule has a unique order. It starts with the pre-existence (Pearl of Great Price). Then we go to the creation of the world (Old Testament) and follow the regular time-line (New Testament, BOM, D&C). Note the asterisks at the bottom. There are a couple spots where you jump to a different place for one day. I hope you enjoy this schedule, and good luck!
