Have you ever wondered what your purpose in life is? I’m sure you know that it’s to learn and grow and become like God, but isn’t that everyone’s purpose? Yes. But what is your unique purpose?
I’m here to tell you.
Your purpose (drumroll) is to use your spiritual gifts to bring others closer to Christ. And we all do that in different ways. You might be curious to know what your spiritual gifts are. How do you even discover your gifts? Well, besides my super fun and accurate spiritual gift quiz, here are a few steps you can take to help you recognize your spiritual gifts.
Pray
Go right to the One who created you and your gifts. God knows the plans He has for you. Ask Him to make you sensitive to the gifts He has blessed you with. Ask God to examine your heart and lead you on the right path to use your gifts. Thank Him for all that he has blessed you with, including your gifts and the opportunities to bless others.
Serve Others
Having spiritual gifts doesn’t do any good if we don’t use them. When you think about serving others, what comes to mind? What comes naturally to you? Those qualities and talents may be your spiritual gifts!
For example, imagine you hear that a beloved, elderly member of your church has been admitted to the hospital. What is your initial response? More than likely, your gifts will determine your response to this news.
Study
In the scriptures, there is a list of spiritual gifts. But there are so many more! Study the scriptures for a list of spiritual gifts. You can also study the attributes of Christ. Study out your patriarchal blessing if you have one. After all, one of its purposes is to tell you your spiritual gifts!
Study how you should use your spiritual gifts. The scriptures tell us how to use them and that there’s a wrong way to use them as well.
